Training Series Part 3: Immigration as a Social Determinant of Health with the Brooklyn Health & Housing Consortium
Please join the Brooklyn Health & Housing Consortium's 3-part virtual training series for frontline staff on addressing housing and income insecurity with a focus on immigrant and vulnerable populations.

Part 3 of the training series, Immigration as a Social Determinant of Health, will be led by Marium Khawaja from LegalHealth/NYLAG on Wednesday, November 10th from 1:00pm-2:15pm.

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:
• Understand the types of immigration statuses that patients/clients may have
• Describe immigrant eligibility for benefits with emphasis on Medicaid or PRUCOL eligibility
• Discuss the current immigration climate that patients/clients are facing and how to address their fears
• Identify tools to help immigrant patients/clients and discuss when a legal referral is appropriate
