FACES Peace of Mind Lecture - Psychiatric Behavior in Children with Epilepsy
Children with epilepsy may have unique challenges that accompany normal development. Sometimes these challenges take the form of psychiatric symptoms or behavioral difficulties. We will be exploring the types and incidences of these sorts of problems in the context of both epilepsy and neurodevelopment through childhood and adolescence.

About the presenter: Siddhartha Nadkarni, MD is affiliated with the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at NYU Langone Health. He graduated from Brown University, with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biology and Comparative Literature. He went to medical school at the University of Miami School of Medicine from 1993 to 1997, and did a 6 year combined residency training program in neurology and psychiatry, and a one-year neurophysiology/epilepsy fellowship at NYU. Dr. Nadkarni's interests include the behavioral and psychiatric aspects of epilepsy, neurophysiology, behavioral neurology, psychiatry, and neurology, and his research interests include psychiatric aspects of epilepsy from a clinical and neurophysiologic perspective.
